Community raises $11K to replace stolen dorm supplies, clothes of Goldey-Beacom freshman

Heading off to college is nerve-wracking enough. But in this freshman's case, the trip turned heartbreaking. Ty'Shawn Ewings and his mother had stayed overnight Sunday at a hotel in Christiana ahead of move-in day at Goldey-Beacom College, Hannah Edelman writes.

Hotel staff informed them Monday morning that their vehicle had been broken into. All of Ewings' items for college had been stolen. His aunt immediately made sure he and his mother had money to replace the most essential items he'd need. But she went further. A GoFundMe now has more than $11,000.

And that's not all. Read Edelman's full story to learn how Goldey-Beacom and others in the community have stepped up.
