Everything old is new again at Chick-fil-A.
The chicken sandwich restaurant brought back two old favorites on Monday – one of them returning with a new twist. On the Chick-fil-A menu for a limited time is the Banana Pudding milkshake. And there's a spicy new twist on the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich that was so popular last fall.
What is the Spicy Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich?
The Spicy Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich comes with a spicy chicken filet, served with pimento cheese, mild pickled jalapeños and a drizzle of honey, on a warm, toasted bun, according to the Chick-fil-A website.
The original Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich, which debuted last August, is also back for a limited time.
What is pimento cheese?
It's a Southern thang.
According to allrecipes.com , pimento cheese is a popular Southern spread traditionally made with shredded Cheddar, mayonnaise and pimentos. It's served with crackers, vegetables or as a sandwich filling. Of course, you can add such things as horseradish or hot sauce or use salad dressing instead of mayo.
"Pimento cheese is often called the 'pâté of the south,'" the website said.

How does the Spicy Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich taste?
The sandwich packs a good amount of sneaky heat. On the first bit you feel a little heat, but when you chew the filet and swallow, the heat multiplies and lingers in your mouth. Each following bite builds on the spicy flavor.
The spiciness won't make you cry or question all your life's decisions, but it will let you know it's hot.
As for the pimento cheese, it's a very strong flavor in the sandwich. The pickles help balance it, but as I wrote last year , when you buy this sandwich, you're not buying it for the chicken. The star is the cheese spread.
So, if pimento cheese isn't your thing, then order your old Chick-fil-A standby.

There's a new shake at Chick-fil-A?
It's a new addition to the menu, but it's had a place in Chick-fil-A fans' hearts. The shake has been on the menu before as a temporary item. But, after its previous run, it vanished for 13 years. Chick-fil-A tested it around Atlanta recently and then brought it back with much buzz to its fall menu.
What is in the Banana Pudding Shake?
The shake has real bananas and vanilla wafer cookie crumbles blended into Icedream dessert, according to the Chick-fil-A website.
How does the Banana Pudding Milkshake taste?
Full disclosure, I'm allergic to bananas. I tried a tiny, tiny sip to see if it was banana-flavored or really bananas.
It was really bananas and I backed away as quickly as possible and found a stand-in taste tester – my 11-year-old daughter.
From my little sip, I could tell that the shake had a very strong banana flavor and the vanilla wafer crumbs were a nice touch.
My daughter liked it initially and enjoyed the banana flavor, but she said it was a lot. She couldn't finish the shake.
If you are bananas for bananas, you will love this shake. Personally, I wish they had brought back last year's Caramel Crumble Milkshake, but I might be in the minority in that opinion.
How much does the Chick-fil-A sandwich and shake cost?
You can get a Spicy Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich and Banana Pudding milkshake in a meal. To get both and a medium fry was $16 at my local restaurant, but prices vary depending on location.
