Retired police officer Jerrold Price was the first Republican to announce his campaign in December 2023, intent on increasing the presence of law enforcement to combat violent crime, expanding rehabilitation programs and advocating for insurance reform.

A resident of Lewes, Price previously served as an officer in the New York Police Department and has also served in the Rehoboth Beach Police Department.

    Mike Ramone

Delaware House Minority Leader Mike Ramone, the party-endorsed Republican vying to be the state’s next governor, is proud of his multiple, and sometimes controversial, businesses and investments.

At candidate forums, in campaign literature, and in interviews, he frequently points to his ventures – including a swim club and property management companies – as the reason he believes he has the skills to be an effective governor.

Ramone also appears proud of his ability to veer outside of conservative orthodoxy, highlighted at recent political debates where he expressed support for legal abortions and for higher salaries for public school teachers.

    Bobby Williamson

Lifelong Bridgeville resident Bobby Williamson filed for candidacy on July 2.

Williamson, who describes himself as a small businessman, “not a career politician,” said he would advocate for a “reinstitution” of regulations on the construction and small business industry; protect “children and parental rights, the churches’ ability to exist, and a proper education,” according to his campaign website.

He also supports preservation and wants to ensure that Delaware doesn’t become “an annex to California,” his campaign touts.

For those who aren’t literate in Mr Williamson dog whistle talking points here’s an explanation. Protect “children and parental rights means banning books and gender affirming care, vouchers for religious schools, banning vaccination requirements for public schools. The churches’ ability to exist means giving religious zealots the power to impose themselves in your life decisions, banning abortion, and public funding of religious schools. Proper education means a religious education in a Christian madrassa and nothing other than that for your children. Don’t be fooled by these clowns. All 3 are MAGA crazy Christian nationalists who will strip your freedoms and abandon our laws and constitution in favor of the dictatorship of the Orange Julius Caesar.
