Jason Kelce dramatically returns to Lincoln Financial Field for Monday Night Countdown

Jason Kelce is back home in Philadelphia.

Kelce made a dramatic entrance for ESPN's Monday Night Countdown.

The opening of the show had Kelce walking in the tunnel to the Eagles ' locker room. He put his face in front of the facial recognition security system, which denied him entrance. Kelce, dressed in a sleeveless Eagles T-shirt, pounded on the locker room door. The door opened and "Big Dom," Dom DiSandro, informed Kelce that he doesn't work here anymore.

Kelce admitted he didn't work there, but then told Big Dom he didn't have anything to wear – a reference to not having a shirt during his Monday Night debut . Big Dom went to get him a special outfit – a South Philly tuxedo, an Eagles green tracksuit with an Italia emblem on it.

Kelce then appeared on stage, pumping up the crowd, and then walked from one stage to the ESPN Monday Night Countdown stage. He was surrounded by Eagles fans cheering on their hero on the walk to the Countdown stage.

Kelce joined Scott Van Pelt and fellow analysts Marcus Spears and Ryan Clark on stage to preview the Falcons-Eagles showdown.

Kelce talked about the Eagles' culture, the benefits of having Philadelphia owner Jeffrey Lurie, and the Philadelphia fans.

"You can't fall asleep," Kelce said. "The fans won't let you and the town won't let you."

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter paid tribute to Kelce, wearing a Mummer costume to Lincoln Financial Field.

Kelce famously wore a Mummer costume to the Eagles' Super Bowl Parade in 2018.

Kelce joined Joe Buck and Troy Aikman in the play-by-play booth during the third quarter.

Buck and Kelce initially talked about the Philadelphia legend's retirement. Kelce then analyzed the Eagles' offensive line.

Eventually, Buck finally asked Kelce the big question – with the Eagles at home and Kelce in the stadium, did he feel the itch to play?

"For sure I feel itchy, but the knees don't feel itchy," Kelce said, who struggled to contain his enthusiasm as the Eagles drove downfield for a field goal and a 10-9 lead. "I'd love to be out there ... but it's fun to be on this side too."
