After a summer filled with beached animal sightings and medical waste washing ashore, you never know what you’ll come across at the Delaware beaches.

This week, it was an object that traveled from our regional neighbor, New Jersey.

On Sept. 24, Fenwick Island Police Department issued a press release sharing that the agency was alerted to a “large red object,” identified as a red lifeguard stand, that washed up on Lewes Street Beach in Fenwick Island.

**TRIVIA TUESDAY**Yesterday, this lifeguard stand washed-up on the beach. Who can name the town where it came from?

Posted by Fenwick Island Police Department on Tuesday, September 24, 2024

The lifeguard chair originated from Ship Bottom, New Jersey, traveling over 118 miles to arrive in Delaware, according to Fenwick police, and is one of several that were lost this season.

Fenwick Island Police Department had some fun with the found treasure by kicking off its trivia Tuesday on Sept. 24 by asking its Facebook followers to identify the town where the lifeguard stand came from correctly.
