    A toast to the Delaware Beer Fest

    There are well over 200 reasons to show up thirsty at the Delaware Beer Fest. That's the number of how many types of beer, wine, meads and spirits that will be available to sample.

    More than 100 brewers will be showcased at the festival. Revelers will get to munch on offerings from food trucks and enjoy activities like beer fest trivia, competitive Jenga and more.

    The event will take place across two sessions: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (first session) and 4 to 8 p.m. (second session). Designated drivers pay a reduced price of $25 (plus fee) to get into the festival, and their ticket includes a complimentary bottle of water and soda.

    Wilmington is 'Head Over Heels' for this show

    The 1980s girl band The Go-Go's provide a rocking soundtrack for the melodic comedy "Head Over Heels, The Musical." This romp spotlights a royal family that desperately wants to avoid fulfilling the Oracle's prophecy of destruction.

    St. Stephen's Lutheran Church (1301 N. Broom St., Wilmington) at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4; 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. Tickets are $31. Visit bootless.org or call (302) 887-9300.

    Lewes Blues and Brews Fall Festival launches

    Because you can't have enough fall festivals in the Small Wonder, folks will have a chance to get their eat and sip on at the new Lewes Blues and Brews Fall Festival.

    This inaugural event features a fall beer garden, artisan craft and vinyl market. The food truck lineup includes Taco Reho, Changing Mains, Papi's Empanadas and special food items from Grain On Rocks. The musical lineup includes Kelly Bell Band, Lower Case Blues, Sweet Leda and Skribe.

    Lewes Ferry Grounds (43 Cape Henlopen Drive, Lewes) at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. General admission is $55 (plus fee). Free for ages 12 or younger. Visit rockingthedockslewes.com .

    Reverend Horton Heat to scorch The Queen

    Reverend Horton Heat is looking to warm up Delaware this fall with its brand of psychobilly music. The band, which built a cult following during the '90s, is known for songs like "Let Me Teach You How to Eat," Psychobilly Freakout” and "The Devil's Chasing Me."
