Eagles’ keys to victory
The bye week came at the right time for the Eagles after a grueling travel schedule to Brazil, New Orleans and Tampa over the first four games. It also gave an extra week for injured wide receivers A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion), along with Pro Bowl right tackle Lane Johnson , to heal. That should solve a lot of their problems evident in the 33-16 loss to Tampa Bay on Sept. 29.
Browns’ keys to victory
The Browns are a mess offensively after getting embarrassed, 34-13, by the Commanders. QB Deshaun Watson was sacked 7 times. It’s possible that star running back Nick Chubb could return this week after missing a full year with a major knee injury. The Browns had the No. 1 defense in the NFL last season, but they’re not playing that way this season.
Matchup to watch
RT Lane Johnson and LT Jordan Mailata vs edge Myles Garrett. Garrett has four sacks this season, on pace for a seventh straight double-digit sack season. But Garrett didn’t record a sack or tackle against Washington. Can the Eagles’ duo hold Garrett, who could line up on either side?
Eagles vs Browns prediction
If the Eagles are truly back to full strength, they should have a big edge, especially if Chubb is not cleared to play. But the Eagles have often been their worst enemy, with a minus-6 turnover ratio. And which Eagles defense will show up: the one that stopped the Saints, or the one that got buried by the Bucs?
