Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni should have been enjoying his team's 20-16 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

While he probably did enjoy the victory, it didn't stop him from getting into it with the crowd during the final minute of the game.

FOX cameras showed Sirianni motioning to the crowd, yelling at them, and then throwing his hands up and walking away.

When asked about the interaction after the game Sirianni, who brought his children with him to the postgame press conference, said, “Just excited to get the win.” Then he winked at the media members.

Sirianni did give credit to the fans for getting loud, especially in the fourth quarter when the Browns were driving for a potential game-tying touchdown with about 4 minutes left. But on 4th-and-goal from the 8, the Eagles up by a touchdown, Browns offensive lineman Jedrick Wills was called for a false start.

That moved the ball back to the 13, and the Browns kicked the field goal with 3:54 left. The Eagles then ran out the clock.

But Sirianni also took a shot at the fans for booing the Eagles loudly in spots during the game.

"We thrive off the crowd when they cheer for us," Sirianni said. "We hear them when they boo. We don’t necessarily like it. I don't think that's productive for anybody. When they cheer for us, and we got them rolling, we love it."

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts didn't see the incident but said, "We encourage him to be himself. That’s who he is.”

Other players said that they encouraged Sirianni to be himself this week, and show that emotion that he has in the past.

"We know how Nick is," wide receiver DeVonta Smith said. "We appreciate the energy that he brings."

And many of the players didn't blame the fans for booing in the first place. They were booing early as the Eagles didn't score again in the first quarter for a fifth straight game. And again just before halftime, when Jake Elliott's 57-yard field goal attempt was blocked, then returned for a touchdown that tied the game at 10-10.

Right tackle Lane Johnson heard the booing, but he said he did not see Sirianni interact with fans late in the game.

"I wasn’t paying attention (to Sirianni's interaction)," Johnson said. "I was watching the fans bark at us. As they should. We made games a lot more competitive than they need to be."

Added Smith: "When you ain’t doing your job, that’s what’s gonna happen around here."

The interaction did not go over well on social media, especially with the Eagles sitting at 3-2 on the season after barely defeating the 1-5 Browns.
