Pass the Torch, a new Democratic political action committee founded as “a grassroots campaign to call on President Biden to step aside as the nominee for President and support the candidate best able to beat Trump” is running a new ad meant to catch the president’s eye in Washington, D.C. and his home state of Delaware.

    Here’s how it goes:

VOTER 1: President Biden, you saved democracy in 2020.

VOTER 2: Now you have a chance to do it again.

VOTER 3: It’s time to pass the torch and let us choose a new nominee.

VOTER 4: One who can bring new energy, new hope-

VOTER 5: -and make sure Donald Trump never gets near the White House again.

VOTER 6: Our country’s future is in your hands.

VOTER 7:  So please, be the leader we know you are. Pass the torch, Joe.

Several of the participants then repeat the last line, urging Biden to “pass the torch.”

On X, a member of the PAC’s steering committee, Aaron Regunberg , announced that the ad would be “going up on the air in DC and Delaware to deliver a message directly to President Biden.”

“Our country’s future is in your hands. Please, be the leader we know you are. Pass the Torch, Joe,” he added.

Biden has continued to indicate that he has no intentions of stepping aside despite the growing number of Democratic lawmakers calling on him to do so.
