21-Year-Old Highland Township Man Tragically Drowns in Townsend Lake, Independence Township
A Highland Township man, aged 21, tragically drowned while swimming at Townsend Lake in Independence Township, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. The man, whose name has not been released, was reported to have been swimming with a friend on Tuesday afternoon when he failed to resurface after going underwater. The sheriff's deputies responded to the scene around 1:40 p.m., as reported by CBS News Detroit.
