    Man Shares the Striking Difference Between Doritos Other Country vs. the USA

    Even though we may know that ultra-processed foods are detrimental to human health, sometimes junk food is irresistible. We all have those days when nothing can satisfy us, like a bag of chips. However, it would be nice to have our occasional indulgences be made in a way that wasn’t so bad.

    It becomes increasingly frustrating to learn that these snacks can be found in other parts of the world with entirely different ingredients. See what makes them less harmful in South Korea in this video on July 10:

    It’s been a long time since I’ve had Doritos. Not only do I try to avoid artificial flavors and dyes at all costs, but MSG makes me incredibly sick. However, Brendan (@ mr_longevity ) is in South Korea, where he found a bag of these chips without any unwanted additives. What a find!

    What Makes South Korean Doritos Different?

    Unlike the American version, these chips don’t contain MSG, Red 40, Blue 1, Yellow 5, or Yellow 6. These toxic dyes, he describes, “Affect your immune system.” Human studies have also shown that they “Affect children’s learning, memory, and behavioral problems.” So, it’s easy to understand why South Korea isn’t allowing anyone to eat these ingredients. He wants to know why we need these dyes in our cereals, snacks, and other foods. It’s a good question. Then again, why would they change the formula if Americans keep buying them?

    Red Dye and Brain Health

    Red dye 40 is an artificial dye derived from petroleum. According to the Cleveland Clinic, it contains benzene, a well-known cancer-causing substance. While more research is needed, some studies have shown a link between this substance and hyperactivity and ADHD. Consuming it also comes with other potential brain health side effects that include irritability, depression, and migraines. Besides snack chips, these days can also be found in foods like pastries, candy, cereals, sports drinks, yogurt, and ice cream. Although some countries have banned these substances because of potential health concerns, the US isn’t one of them.

    People shared their thoughts about the use of these additives. Viewer @DustyStorm responded, “Why? American food is solely about the bottom line: profits. As long as lobbyists run Congress, that’ll never change.” That may be true. Viewer @DiegoH remarked, “It’s because the health care system is way more profitable than making healthy food for people. North America is not a country. It is a business, guys.” It sure sounds that way. Viewer @Loveless responded, “Amen, brother. I’m over it.” It would seem many consumers are.

    Hopefully, one day, we can occasionally eat junk food again that isn’t so potentially detrimental to our health. It would be nice to snack without wondering which toxins are hidden inside.
