Few deals outmatch those found at the Costco food court. Where else can you get a one-pound all-beef hotdog and a drink for less than two dollars? If you’re an ice cream lover, I don’t have to tell you their soft serve is another unbeatable deal.

In fact, we can have a feast for under $10! It’s even more of a treat when we know how to combine some of their tastiest options.

Check out this man’s drool-worthy combination idea in a video shared on July 25:

This guy is a genius! Even though we might not know his name to give him the proper credit, creator @ mat.l1993 didn’t want the world to miss out on his creation. His culinary fans shall fondly know this clever fellow as the creator of the Costco pizza dog. It’s such an easy meal; he took his one-pound hot dog, including the bun, and placed it inside a giant slice of Costco’s pizza . Then, he folded it up and dug in. However, there are important questions that remain unknown. Did he put toppings on the hotdog? Would adding ketchup be overkill, or would mustard clash with the sauce? How about relish? Did he choose a slice of pepperoni or cheese? There are so many ways this could come together. While we might not have answers to these questions, we can try all these scenarios ourselves. It’s hard work, but someone has to do it.

Does Costco Make Money on the $1.50 Hot Dog?

The answer is both yes and no. According to the Motley Fool, Costco made nearly $200 million selling the hot dog and soda combo in 2023. However, this doesn’t mean they turned a profit. The company hasn’t raised prices on this combo since it was introduced in the 80s, and adjusting for inflation, it would likely cost close to five dollars today. However, when they lose money on this item, they more than make up for it on membership fees. They’ve also introduced newer items like the $2.50 giant Crumbl-style chocolate chip cookie , which likely helps offset this inexpensive combo’s cost. The good news for consumers is that while everything else continues to go up almost daily, this low price is one we can count on seeing.

Since we all have to shop for groceries, we might as well do it at a store where we can also get an inexpensive meal. Few places compare to the deals we can find at Costco, and it doesn’t appear they will change anytime soon.
