44-year-old man dies from injuries sustained in motorcycle crash
FALL RIVER COUNTY, S.D. - A 44-year-old man passed away on Friday, August 23 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash seven miles from Edgemont on Saturday, August 3. The rider of a 2011 Yamaha STR motorcycle was traveling east on U.S. Highway 18 near mile marker 20 at noon on August 3, 2024. The motorcycle veered right and went off the road. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle into the south ditch.

{KXLG – Watertown, SD} Governor Kristi Noem has approved the commutation of Renee Eckes’ life sentence. Eckes, now 43, was involved in the murder of David Bauman over 25 years ago.
