The spring sports season is typically a busy time at Salisbury University, and for many of their top teams. The 2024 season is no different, as three nationally ranked teams at SU prepare for big matchups in the coming days.

The softball, baseball and women's lacrosse teams at Salisbury are all still engaged in their own deep playoff runs, with the lacrosse team reaching the Final Four of the Division III NCAA Tournament, while the baseball and softball teams look to take a big step towards winning national titles.

The Women's Lacrosse team at Salisbury will be traveling to Roanoke College to face William Smith in the NCAA Division III Semifinals on Friday. The Sea Gulls clinched their spot in the semifinals by defeating Babson and Washington & Lee last weekend in their regional playoff matchups, with Caroline Knight scoring eight goals combined in the two victories.

If Salisbury wins, they will advance to the National Championship Game on Sunday.

Baseball and softball squads host key matchups this weekend

SU's Baseball and Softball teams will be competing at home in Salisbury this week in the NCAA Division Super Regionals, with their opponents coming to Salisbury with spots in the Baseball and Softball World Series on the line.

The softball team at Salisbury defeated Randolph Macon this past weekend in the NCAA Regionals, punching their ticket to a Super Regionals matchup against Tufts. The games will be played at Salisbury's Margie Knight Field, with Game 1 of the best-of-three games series beginning on Thursday at 2 p.m. Game 2 and Game 3, if necessary, will be played on Friday.

The Sea Gulls' baseball team dominated their regional series against Mitchell College, winning both games by a combined score of 26-0. Next up for the baseball team is hosting the best-of-three series Super Regionals series against Salve Regina, with Game 1 kicking off at noon on Friday, and Game 2 and Game 3 if necessary taking place on Saturday.
