When it comes to fall entertainment events on Delmarva, Ocean City has been in the limelight this month with tens of thousands of people attending music festivals — and concerts continue to be added for the months ahead.

The Ocean City Performing Arts Center will host a show this week that pays homage to the earliest days of rock ’n’ roll. Sun Records Live: The Concert will take place at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10 ($40, $50). Tribute performers will portray godfathers of the genre including Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley.
Hey, hey it's the Monkee! See Micky Dolenz in Ocean City in spring
The following day will find tickets going on sale for an OC Performing Arts Center show that won’t take place until spring of next year. Tickets for Micky Dolenz of The Monkees: Songs and Stories go on sale to the public at noon on Friday, Oct. 11 ($40 to $60). The concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1.
Dolenz is the lone surviving member of The Monkees — the quartet whose 1960s sitcom lives on in syndicated reruns (most recently on the AXS TV cable network). While Dolenz played drums on the TV show, he also sang lead vocals on classic Monkees pop hits including “I’m A Believer,” “Steppin’ Stone,” “Pleasant Valley Sunday” and more.

Comedian Tracy Morgan, WAR keep the big Ocean City shows coming
As mentioned in this column last week, tickets are also on sale for a pair of concerts by two other acts who are also major headliners. Comedy heavyweight Tracy Morgan will laugh it up at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 ($45, $55). WAR’s Why Can’t We Be Friends 50th Anniversary Tour will find the group showcasing its rock and R&B hits such as “Low Rider” at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 ($45, $55).
Season's final deck party, wine and oyster fests on tap at Fager's Island
Elsewhere in Ocean City, Fager’s Island will host its last Monday deck party of the year at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 14 with rock favorites courtesy of longtime local favorite Transfuzion (along with DJ Groove). Looking ahead, Fager’s has tickets on sale now for its Fall Wine Fest on Saturday, Oct. 19 ($80) and the Shell Shocked oyster eat on Saturday, Nov. 2 ($80).

Jill Sobule show, Jam Night keep The Listening Booth humming along
In Sussex County, there is plenty of year-round music taking place at The Listening Booth, which is located in the Coastal Plaza shopping center on southbound Route 1 at Midway. Musicians are welcome to participate in the weekly Sunday Social Jam Night, which will take place at 8 p.m. Oct. 13.
Tickets have also gone on sale for the return of national singer-songwriter Jill Sobule (“I Kissed A Girl”), who will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 ($15, $35). Sobule’s first Listening Booth appearance last year was an advance sellout.
Rehoboth's Dogfish Head, of course, has free shows to enjoy
In downtown Rehoboth Beach, the Dogfish Head brewpub continues its tradition of showcasing original music every weekend with no cover charge. At 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, the Pennsylvania-based Americana duo The Wild Hymns will perform. Brooklyn, N.Y., singer-guitarist Jon Dell will play a solo acoustic show at 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.
