When it comes to fall entertainment events on Delmarva, Ocean City has been in the limelight this month with tens of thousands of people attending music festivals — and concerts continue to be added for the months ahead.

Enjoy music of Elvis, Johnny Cash and more at Ocean City tribute show

The Ocean City Performing Arts Center will host a show this week that pays homage to the earliest days of rock ’n’ roll. Sun Records Live: The Concert will take place at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10 ($40, $50). Tribute performers will portray godfathers of the genre including Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley.

The following day will find tickets going on sale for an OC Performing Arts Center show that won’t take place until spring of next year. Tickets for Micky Dolenz of The Monkees: Songs and Stories go on sale to the public at noon on Friday, Oct. 11 ($40 to $60). The concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1.

Dolenz is the lone surviving member of The Monkees — the quartet whose 1960s sitcom lives on in syndicated reruns (most recently on the AXS TV cable network). While Dolenz played drums on the TV show, he also sang lead vocals on classic Monkees pop hits including “I’m A Believer,” “Steppin’ Stone,” “Pleasant Valley Sunday” and more.
