The Radian Group, a mortgage insurance company, is laying off approximately 70 people in Chester County. Radian Group Inc. filed a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act) notice with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry informing that state it is laying off the employees at 550 East Swedesford Road in Tredyffrin Township near Wayne.

Penn College sees unexpected increase in state budget
Williamsport, Pa. — On July 11, Gov. Josh Shapiro approved the 2024-25 Pennsylvania budget, which includes a $4 million increase in state appropriations for Penn College — a 13% increase compared to last year. In the College's 2024-25 budget, approved by the Board of Directors on June 27, the Board only anticipated a 5% increase. Teenager stabbed multiple times in Penn Hills
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A teenager was stabbed in Penn Hills on Tuesday. The Allegheny County Police Department said in a news release on Tuesday that the teenage boy was stabbed multiple times on Hamil Road around 4:45 p.m.He was taken to a local hospital, police said, adding that he was last listed in critical but stable condition. The victim has not been identified.Police said the suspect drove away from the scene in a vehicle, but they later crashed into another driver. There were no injuries in the crash. The suspect then ran from the crash scene but was later found, officials said. The suspect has not been identified. "Detectives are in consultation with the district attorney's office to determine appropriate charges," Allegheny County police said in the news release.
