Eligible New York State Families Getting a Check Starting November 1
Everyone who is eligible will get at least $21. November 1 is the first day that New York State will make benefits available for the Home Energy Assistance Program. If you have not applied for HEAP yet, now is the time to do so. HEAP is set to make people who need help comfortable during the typical winter months in New York State by helping them pay their energy bills. The dollar amount changes based on how many people are in your home, and if you are under the threshold, you are able to receive assistance as long as their is money still available in the program.
