    Vote: Who is the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Boys Sports Athlete of the Week?

    It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V .

    Your vote will determine who will be the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Boys Sports Athlete of the Week for April 22-28. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.

    All athletes who play on Section V boys teams are eligible to be nominated.

    Dylan Bhatia

    The Pittsford Sutherland tennis star helped the Knights clinch the Monroe County Division I title. Bhatia's 6-2, 7-5 win at second singles clinched a 6-1 win at Brighton on Saturday.

    Nate Brinza

    The Canandaigua junior, a pitcher and infielder on the school's baseball team, struck out eight batters in 5 2/3 innings and drove in three runs as he was 3-for-3 with a triple during a win over Aquinas.

    Aiden Bryant

    The Midlakes sophomore launched himself to a 24 foot-1 inch long jump during a Wayne-Finger Lakes league dual meet at Geneva. This is the best jump of the season in Section V.

    Wyatt Bryman

    Attica's baseball star had a monster week at the plate over four games, including two home runs, one a grand slam; a day he drove in seven runs; a day he was 4-for-5 at the plate, plus multiple stolen bases and runs scored.

    Weston Elkovitch

    The Victor senior pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs as he struck out six batters, while going 2-for-4 at the plate and driving in two runs in a win over Churchville-Chili.

    Ibrahim Ford

    A sophomore distance runner on the Arkport/Canaseraga outdoor track and field team, he led a group of three across the finish line who completed the season's fastest 1,600-meter race in Section V during the His and Her Invitational. Ford finished in 4 minutes, 31.92 seconds, as runners went against a strong wind during the final 75 meters of the race at Churchville-Chili.

    Preston Jackson

    Rush-Henrietta lacrosse's sophomore racked up 36 ground balls in three games, including 18 in a victory over Churchville-Chili on Thursday. Jackson is one of only two players in Section V with 100 ground balls already this season. He also posted six goals in the last week and had an 11-for-11 showing in faceoffs on Saturday against Midlakes-Red Jacket.

    Connor Keil

    The Fairport golf star shot 2-under par 33 during a pair of Red Raiders' wins in a tri-match Friday at Penfield Country Club. Fairport beat Penfield 196-204 and Webster Schroeder 196-213.

    Tim Leary

    The Northstar Christian Academy senior pitched a five-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts, hit a double, scored three runs and stole three bases during a baseball doubleheader against Lima Christian.

    Cooper Moore

    Moore, an attack from Irondequoit, helped the Eagles secure a perfect three-win week with a total of 11 goals and 4 assists. The sophomore enters this week tied for the Section V lead with 40 goals.

    Peter Northrup

    No one has put a shot and thrown a discus further this season in Section V outdoor track and field than this Penfield senior. Northrup won the shot put (57 feet-7.5 inches) and discus throw (172 feet-11 inches) competitions during a Monroe County league dual meet at Penfield.

    Jake Palermo

    The Hilton senior ran the fastest 400-meter race of the Section V outdoor track and field season, 48.84 seconds, during the His and Her Invitational. The final 75 meters of every race at Churchville-Chili was completed against a strong wind.

    Nate Parker

    The Brockport senior, an outfielder, drove in five runs, as he finished 3-for-3, including a grand slam and a double, during a loss to Honeoye Falls-Lima.

    Bryce Patterson

    The Geneseo baseball player drove in five runs and had four hits, including a grand slam. during a runaway win over Keshequa.

    Alan Plummer

    The Mynderse pitcher in his junior year season won both of his starts last week, including zero hits allowed in 6 2/3 innings against North Rose-Wolcott. Pitch count rules forced Plummer to leave the mound one out away from a no-hitter.

    Tanner Radogna

    Radogna, a senior at Victor, scored the winning goal with a second remaining in the Blue Devils’ victory over Section III’s Jamesville-DeWitt on Saturday. The goal was Radogna’s third of the game. He also posted four goals in Victor’s win over Webster Schroeder on Tuesday.

    Ethan Shea

    The Pittsford Mendon junior was the leader of three who ran the fastest 800-meter races of the Section V outdoor track and field season, 1 minute and 58.28 seconds during the His and Her Invitational at Churchville-Chili. The sprinters had to complete the race into a strong wind.

    Jaden Sherwood

    The Batavia Notre Dame senior was in the mix of a Genesee Region baseball league win. He drove in 4 runs as he finished 1 for 2 with a triple and a sacrifice fly, with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base. He pitched 4 innings, allowed 2 earned runs, 2 hits, walked 1 batter and struck out 9.

    Alex Spezzano

    The LeRoy junior, a shortstop and right-handed pitcher with the Oaktan Knights, pitched 4 innings, allowed 2 hits and struck out 7 batters and had at least 4 hits, including a triple and double, scored 3 runs and stole 3 bases during two games.

    John Swartz

    The Victor junior, a first baseman and outfielder with the Blue Devils, earned his first varsity pitching win after he allowed 1 earned run and struck out seven batters in 6 2/3 innings during a win over Penfield. He also drove in two runs as he was 2-for-3 including a double.

    Max Waldron

    The Clyde-Savannah outfielder, a junior, drove in nine runs, as he was 5-for-8 with three doubles and a stolen base in two Wayne County league games.
