It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who will be the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Boys Sports Athlete of the Week for May 13-19. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.

All athletes who play on Section V boys teams are eligible to be nominated.

Now, let's meet the candidates. And if the poll at the bottom of the page doesn't load, please click here.

    Dylan Bhatia

The Pittsford Sutherland tennis star helped the Knights capture the Section V Class A1 team championship with a 5-2 win over Mendon. Bhatia won a tough second singles match over Ari Roland 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.

    Melkamu Blueye

The Marcus Whitman lacrosse star had five goals, including the game-winner in overtime, and 10 ground balls in the regular season finale against Bloomfield-Honeoye.

    Matt Carpentier

The Pittsford Mendon golf star won the Section V Class A individual championship Saturday at Ravenwood Golf Club with his tournament low 4-under par 68.

    Colin Duncan

The Churchville-Chili senior scored six goals on 12 shots in the Saints’ sectional opener against Brockport on Saturday. He’s up to 43 goals on the season.

    Richard Essen

The McQuaid golf star was co-champion of the Section V Class AA individual tournament. Essen shot a 3-under par 69 Saturday at Ravenwood Golf Club, which was the second lowest score of the entire tournament.

    Will Gordon

McQuaid's goalie made 16 saves on 22 shots as the Knights wrapped up the regular season with a victory over Victor. Gordon has a .580 save percentage this season as a senior.

    Frank Grad

The Spencerport senior, an infielder and pitcher on the school's baseball team, drove in a run, scored two runs and stole two bases as he finished 2-for-3 during the team's 4-3 win over Brockport during the Section V Class AA pre-quarterfinals. He pitched the final 2 2/3 innings of that playoff game without allowing a run.

    Tyler Judd

The Brockport junior came out on top among three outdoor track and field teammates who placed first through third in the pentathlon during the Monroe County Championships. Judd's point total (3,126) is the highest in Section V this season.

    Jack Kelly

The Webster Schroeder senior drove in three runs during the team's three games, including a Section V Class AA tournament pre-quarterfinal. He was the winning pitcher in two of those games, as he allowed one run in 12 innings. He struck out 16 batters.

    Ricardo Lagares

The Churchville-Chili senior won two track and field events and finished second in the long jump and triple jump during the Monroe County Championships at Victor. Lagares ran the 200-meter dash in 21.89 seconds, the second-fastest time this season on the Section V leaderboard. He also won the 100 dash (10.83).

    Aidan Neenan

Honeoye Falls-Lima senior, who helped the Cougars win a Section V baseball championship last spring, drove in three runs over the course of three games last week. He was 4-for-6 with a double during that span, and pitched five innings as a reliever during the team's sectional tournament win. He allowed no runs, no hits and struck out 10 batters.
