Several found dead in Irondequoit house fire; police investigate as homicide

The Irondequoit Police stated they found several individuals dead inside a home on Knapp Avenue while responding to a fire.

Homicide investigation underway in Irondequoit NY

At approximately 5:23 a.m., the Irondequoit Fire Department, the St. Paul Fire Department, the Point Pleasant Fire Department, and Irondequoit Ambulance responded to the location and brought the fire under control.

The police stated that while searching the area, they found multiple people deceased inside, and they are now treating this incident as a homicide.

Multiple agencies assisting in investigation

Police are still waiting for the Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death, and they have not released any names or the number of individuals found in the home.

The Irondequoit Police Department said they are working closely with the Monroe County District Attorney, Monroe County Fire Bureau Arson Investigators, and New York State Fire Investigators on this incident.
