    Rochester man killed in Adirondacks motorcycle crash identified

    A Rochester man died last week after he was thrown from his motorcycle while driving in the Adirondacks.

    The crash occurred at 11:50 a.m. Friday, when Alec J. Ricci, 27, of Rochester was driving a motorcycle north on Route 86 in North Elba, Essex County, and failed to negotiate a curve, according to New York State Police. Ricci was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. troopers said.

    Ricci's obituary described him as a free spirit who loved fishing, boating, camping, smoking meat with family, snowboarding and riding his motorcycle. The obituary said that he died doing what he loved in one of his "most cherished places."

    "Alec was a talented fabricator and welder. It didn't take him long to land his dream job of making race cars," the obituary read. "He had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. He was always up for a good time and lived life to the fullest. There was so much more to this young man's life."

    Ricci was survived by his parents, siblings and numerous other relatives.

    Calling hours for Ricci run from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster.

    Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
