Bills anemic pass offense summed up in one blooper play against Texans

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had trouble hitting his receivers against the Houston Texans .

But he did hit rookie Keon Coleman in the helmet.

Allen was looking for Coleman, who had one-one-one coverage against rookie cornerback Kamari Lassiter, for a quick strike on a run-pass option with 9:34 remaining in the third quarter. Coleman wasn't on the same page as he attempted to block Lassiter instead of turning his head around. Allen's pass drilled Coleman in the back of the helmet.

Allen completed 30% of his passes, going 9 of 30 for 131 yards with a touchdown in the last-second 23-20 loss to Houston . It's the worst single-game completion percentage in Allen's career. Allen went 6 of 15 (40% completion percentage) in his NFL debut in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1 of 2018.

Coleman redeemed himself with a 49-yard touchdown reception on the next possession. Coleman made a short catch, shedding a defender and breaking away for a 49-yard touchdown catch on fourth-and-5 to bring the Bills to within 20-17.

It was Coleman's lone catch of the game. He was also flagged for a false start and offensive pass interference.
