A new restaurant has opened its doors to serve residents of Demopolis and surrounding areas. Wings on Pettus held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 8 to officially declare itself open for business. Wings on Pettus was previously known as EZ Street Wings.

The new restaurant is owned by Stephanie Smith who also owns the well known spot for barbecue in town – A Slab and More. Wings on Pettus aims to draw in a similar crowd with different menu options.

The eatery offers a menu full of items that are bound to please any customer with 20 different flavors of wings ranging from plain to garlic buffalo and more. Diners can also enjoy whole wings, hamburgers, sandwiches, fried or grilled shrimp, chicken tenders, fish (whiting or catfish), salads and several different sides.

Mayor Woody Collins said that Demopolis frequently hosts quite a few contractors who pass through the area and find themselves at Smith’s restaurant. Smith has drawn in many different people over the years including visitors from across the world.

“They were all the way from Australia and they found us on their phone,” said Smith.

As always during a ribbon cutting, Collins extended a hand to Smith and offered the city’s help wherever she needs them.

“You all are doing a really good job,” said Collins. “We appreciate all that you do. If there is anything we can do from a city standpoint, let me know. We’re always there for you.”

Wings on Pettus is open for take out only on Tuesday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday. Individuals who would like to place an order can do so by calling 334-654-5073.
