There are plenty of pros and cons to renting. Some of the pros include not being responsible for maintenance and repairs, and knowing that if you want to up and move you won't have to worry about prepping your home for sale or going through the long and possibly costly process of purchasing a new place.

Of course, for every perk there's also a downside, and one of the biggest ones we can think of is how little control you have over your space. A lot of landlords don't let their tenants paint the walls or hang things, making it hard to make your place feel like home.

But, one woman has found a brilliant workaround for this problem at her house, where she created the most beautiful patio on a budget. Check it out and get some inspiration for your next outdoor project!

First, we're impressed that @deverythingnatalie_ was able to do this patio update while wearing a dress! She definitely put some work in getting the space ready, and she was able to do it all while looking super fashionable.

Next, she showed us how she styled everything, adding her own lights, candles, and patio furniture, ensuring that each piece she added could be easily taken down once it came time to move.

We especially love the way she hung her string of lights, using Command Hooks to get them installed. These hooks are so great for renters because they don't leave holes in the wall yet they still allow you to hang things up, giving you more opportunities to personalize your space!

Command Hooks are one way that people personalize their space without making any permanent changes and peel-and-stick wallpaper and tiles are another. These allow you to make major changes with zero commitment, and they make it super easy to return everything the way it was when your lease is up.

Removable Wallpaper Hack Is a Game-Changer

While peel-and-stick tiles are a go to for so many different projects, a lot of people have complained about the damage they can do to the drywall under them, making a big mess to take care of once they come down.

This woman decided that she wanted to avoid having to deal with that potential headache, and instead opted to use some liquid glue and cloth in place of wallpaper.

All you have to do is watch her quick video tutorial to see how well it turned out, and to possibly get some ideas for your own rent-friendly project.

    Rent Friendly Backyard Transformation

Anyone looking to create a fun and functional outdoor space, but worried about making permanent changes that they either can't undo or can't take with them, would be wise to look at how the OP set up her space.

Considering she said all of this was done on a shoe string budget, this definitely seems doable for just about any renter with access to yard space!
