Is your lumpy old mattress well overdue for a replacement? IKEA super-shoppers craving a comfy night's sleep at an affordable cost will have yet another reason to hit up their favorite furniture store this week, thanks to IKEA's exciting new product line rollout.
The US branch of the popular Swedish furniture chain, which currently sells bedroom furniture and bedding, is giving rough sleepers across the country reason to rejoice with their brand-new line of cozy mattresses, designed to maximize comfort at an affordable cost!
According to a company announcement covered by retail industry news source Retail Dive , IKEA US is offering new spring, foam, and hybrid mattresses , with queen-sized mattresses and smaller retailing for under $600. The new mattresses are designed with special comfort zones to suit the sleepers’ body weight and align their hips, shoulders, and head.
These new mattresses, along with a number of other new bedroom products, were first introduced to the public last week at the IKEA Sleepeasy , an immersive (and still ongoing) pop-up event in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City . Guests enter a hidden door inside a "reimagined Swedish bodega" to discover IKEA's new mattresses, bedding, air purifiers, and other sleeping products through interactive experiences highlighting the six sleep essentials: comfort, light, temperature, sound, air quality , and decluttering.
"The products correlate with each of the six sleep essentials and vary based on individual needs,” said IKEA US Bedroom Business Manager Tania Moreira. “The IKEA Sleepeasy is a fun way to showcase how people can sleep better with affordable and quality products.”
Sleepeasy guests will also get to enjoy a silent headphones-only disco, live music, and delicious IKEA food (no IKEA experience is complete without it). The Sleepeasy already had its first weekend run from August 8-11, but this totally free event is continuing this weekend from August 15-18 at 51 Crosby Street in SoHo. It'll be open from 11am to 9 pm Thursday through Saturday, and 11 am to 7 pm on Sunday - no RSVP required!
Don't live anywhere near Manhattan? No problem. IKEA's newest sleeping products are already being shipped out to stores across the US, where you can test them out in person (my nearest store already seems to have most of them in stock). IKEA shoppers who want to take their mattress for a test run before committing can try them out at home during their 90-day trial period. All of IKEA's mattresses also come backed by a 10-year limited warranty. It's the perfect opportunity to improve your sleep quality and pick your ideal mattress without breaking the bank!
