USM extends grace period, adds payment kiosks after automated parking complaints
GORHAM (WGME) -- The University of Southern Maine has made some tweaks to its automated parking systems in Gorham and Portland after parent and student complaints. The system, which went live last year, uses a combination of cameras and artificial intelligence to track license plates coming and going from campus parking lots.

Mapleton Daze brings fun to community

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine men's and women's cross country teams have released their schedules for the 2024 season. The teams will open with a home meet on Aug. 30. The Black Bears will kick off the season by hosting Army at Saxl Park in Bangor on Aug. 30 at noon. The following day, the Black Bears will travel to the University of Vermont for the Vermont Invitational. Thomaston ambulance gets scraped up, returns to service within two hours
THOMASTON — Just prior to 12 p.m., July 12, 2024, Thomaston Fire and Ambulance services were responding to a motor vehicle crash on Route 1 (New County Rd) at the entrance to Walmart and Tractor Supply. While en route, the ambulance became involved in its own incident near the intersection of Old County and New County roads.
One dead in fiery collision on East Main Street in Conway
CONWAY — A motor vehicle crash on July 12 resulted in a fatality and a fire when a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck collided on East Main Street at about 3:57 p.m. Conway Police Department officers arrived at the scene to find a 2022 Peterbilt tractor pulling a 2009 Manac trailer had collided with a 2002 Ford F150 pickup truck.
