BOONVILLE — Aviation education is a passion for Adina (Szewczyk) Papp. Flying is in her DNA. She even met her pilot-husband while attending EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh. Adina grew up in Boonville, NY, spending time with family at the local grass strip. And four generations of pilots — from her grandfather, father, and herself, to her son and his wife — have flown their family-owned Piper PA-22 Tri-Pacer. The family fleet also includes a Piper PA-18 Super Cub, Piper J-3 Cub, Piper PA-11 Cub Special, and Aeronca Model 7AC Champ.
Philadelphia school district faces federal complaint over antisemitism
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) filed a federal complaint on Tuesday addressed to the US Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights under Title VI alleging that antisemitism is rampant in the Philadelphia school district. Title VI or the Civil Rights Act of 1964, prohibits discrimination based on shared ancestry and provides for safe learning environments.

Another Tornado Touched Down In New York State
The month of July has been a record month for tornados in New York State and another one was confirmed to have touched down earlier this week. The National Weather Service in Buffalo confirmed that an EF-0 tornado touched down near Orwell, New York. This was the 20th tornado to be confirmed in New York State this month.
Potentially Deadly Veggies Sold In New York Stores
A voluntary recall has been expanded due to the potential health threat it poses in New York State. Wiers Farm Inc. of Willard, Ohio, is expanding its July 12, 2024, recall. The recall was initiated by findings reported by the Michigan Department of Agriculture.
