FORNEY — Matthew Mainard jumped on the first pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning, belting a solo home run and leading Lovejoy to a 3-2 walk off win against Hallsville to stay alive in a Class 5A regional quarterfinal series.

Hallsville (24-11) won the opener on Wednesday. The teams will meet again at 1 p.m. Saturday back in Forney to settle things.
