Texas man sentenced for harboring undocumented aliens and firearm possession

McALLEN, Texas — A 37-year-old Texas man has been sentenced to 41 months in federal prison for harboring undocumented aliens and possessing firearms, according to U.S. Attorney Alamdar S. Hamdani.

Miguel Angel Nunez-Urrea, of Mission, Texas, pleaded guilty on Nov. 30, 2023. Chief U.S. District Judge Randy Crane, who presided over the case, noted the impact of Nunez-Urrea's actions on his family during the sentencing. As Nunez-Urrea is not a U.S. citizen, he is expected to face removal proceedings post-imprisonment.
