Denton’s July Jubilee celebration Wednesday evening was billed as a family-friendly festival at Quakertown Park, where families could enjoy bounce slides, music and vendors and end the night with a much-anticipated drone show.

Hundreds arrived to set up blankets and lawn chairs at the park behind Emily Fowler Central Library and over toward the main stage set up behind the Civic Center and City Hall to enjoy the events and the two drone performances. For many, it was three hours in the blistering heat with long lines that people suffered through to make memories with their children.
