The interior at Rodeo Goat’s Denton location is designed to feel like a rodeo, but has some more elevated features a glass garage door that opens to an outdoor patio.

Imagine peeking behind the scenes at a local rodeo. A group of teens from Future Farmers of America are grooming cattle in the livestock pens, while cowboys resin their saddles close by. The smell of burgers on the grill lingers by the carnival games. This is the concept behind Rodeo Goat burger restaurant, which opened last September on the I-35 frontage road south of Loop 288 between Denton and Corinth.

“The point is to feel like you’re backstage at a rodeo,” said owner Shannon Wynne, the accomplished Dallas restaurateur behind successful regional chains like Flying Saucer Draught Emporium and Flying Fish. Wynne opened the first Rodeo Goat location in Fort Worth in 2013, honing in on the rural Western theme and a menu of over-the-top gourmet burgers to stand out from other local eateries.
