Pancho Poncho Coming to Capitol Hill Restaurant Scene

Capitol Hill is preparing to say goodbye to one restaurant and welcome another in its place. Westword reports Logan Street restaurant, located at 400 E 7th Ave., will be transitioning into Pancho Poncho, an exciting Mexican concept.

Logan Street has faced challenges since its late 2019 opening, right before the COVID-19 pandemic. Its operators, who are also the owners of the adjacent Carboy Winery taproom and nearby Angelo’s Taverna, decided to change the vision of the space.

With Benny’s — a neighborhood favorite for Mexican food — closed, there was a hole in the market in the area for the cuisine. The concept will feature recipes created with the help of the entire kitchen staff, including burritos, enchiladas, tacos, and molcajetes.

Pancho Poncho will continue the popular happy hour tradition with deals on drinks and appetizers, with deals around $6 to $7. Bar manager Max Smith is creating a cohesive cocktail menu that includes innovative drinks such as sangria and wine-a-ritas.
