Losing your favorite "stuffie" as a child is tragic, as anyone who ever went through that in their own childhood can relate. When you're a kid, and the comfort item that you constantly hold onto and snuggle with at night goes missing, it almost feels like losing a pet. Unfortunately, countless kids misplace precious items every year, and most of them aren't lucky enough to get them back.
But one online Good Samaritan is trying to beat those odds. After discovering a child's lost stuffie at Denver International Airport on June 7, she's trying to harness the power of the internet to locate the toy's owner and send him (or her) back home!
A mother herself, @dustlehustle knows how tragic losing a favorite toy is for a child, and she's pulling out all the stops to get this precious stuffie home. She found the brown stuffed toy dog at Gate A44 in Denver International Airport at around 2:30 pm on Friday, June 7. A44 is a Frontier Airlines gate, and according to FlightStats.com, there appear to have been at least five other Frontier flights that departed from Gate A44 before 2:30 that day: a 6 am for Detroit, a 7:56 for Cancun, a 10:31 for Cedar Rapids, an 11:41 for Des Moines, and a 12:38 pm for Syracuse.

"Dustle" showed off the clearly well-loved stuffie on video, noting that it was Douglas-branded with a red and white tag below its tail. Though the toy had no other identifying information on it, Dustle hopes that if enough TikTok users boost her video and make it go viral, the airport information and the visuals will be enough for the toy's owner (or more likely, their parents) to identify it and get in touch.
TikTok users flooded the video with likes and comments, attempting to aid Dustle on her kind-hearted mission. Many of them shared heartbreaking stories about losing beloved toys, and how Good Samaritans like Dustle have saved the day in their own lives.
"This is sweet! My little lost her purple unicorn a year ago in an airport and still cries about it," shared @ab_me85750.
"That looks like a well loved pup," remarked @internaltruthseeker. "We left a rainbow monkey on a plane once and there was a woman that ran through the terminal with it over her head trying to find us. Rainbow monkey made it home."
"I lost my stuffy in a hotel in Florida as a kid. Not only did they find it, they mailed it back to me," said @danielemerson878.
"That's what we are hoping for!" Dustle replied. Fingers crossed!
The Adventures of 'Douglas'
Of course, the very first thing I did was look for updates regarding the owner, but so far, there are none. In the meantime, though, Dustle has dubbed the lost toy "Douglas," and she and her own family have temporarily taken the dog under their wing on a series of adventures.
First, Douglas flew home to Dallas-Fort Worth Airport with Dustle and her family. She posted a follow-up video showing Douglas playing with her kid on the plane, enjoying ice-cold water and airplane snacks , listening to tunes, and even sporting a fashionable bracelet "collar" and a pair of stylish shades.
The next day, Douglas joined the family for a boating adventure out on the lake! Donning a Douglas-sized life jacket, the stuffie went rafting and waterskiing with Dustle, had fun in the sun, and even got to be the boat's assistant captain for a little bit!
Douglas is in very good hands, and his temporary guardians are making sure he has an incredible vacation during his time away from home. But somewhere out there, Douglas' family still misses him, and Dustle is still trying her hardest to get him back where he belongs.
