The Denver Broncos added former Stanford head coach David Shaw to their front office on Thursday. Shaw, 51, joins general manager George Paton's staff as a senior personnel executive. Shaw and Broncos head coach Sean Payton were both on the Philadelphia Eagles' coaching staff in 1997. At Stanford from 2011-22, Shaw became the only four-time Pac-12 Coach of the Year. The winningest coach in school history compiled a 96-54 record with the Cardinal that included eight straight bowl appearances from 2011-18 and two Rose Bowl victories. Stanford produced 42 NFL Draft picks in his tenure, including six in the first round. Quarterback Andrew Luck was the No. 1 overall pick in 2012 and running back Christian McCaffrey was the No. 8 selection in 2017. In addition to working as a quality control coach for the Eagles in 1997, Shaw's NFL coaching experience includes stints as an assistant with the then-Oakland Raiders (1998-2001) and Baltimore Ravens (2002-05). --Field Level Media
