The Denver Broncos have a quarterback battle going on with three different guys. There is a real chance that Bo Nix, Zach Wilson, and Jarrett Stidham could all start Week 1 - that's how close the QB battle is. Luckily, head coach Sean Payton knows how to spot a good quarterback, and it seems like all three guys wouldn't be a terrible option for Week 1.

But, let's be honest. We all want to see the rookie quarterback that the team just drafted - the guy who is supposed to be the franchise quarterback, the first one since Peyton Manning was in town in 2015. With all of the noise about rookie quarterbacks going into 2024, everyone's eyes will be on the much bigger names like Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels.

But, Bo Nix can have a good season, and one former Broncos player thinks the same.

"I predict - you hear it here first, but this is just my opinion - I think Bo Nix is going to have a great season this year," former Broncos tight end Julius Thomas said. "I think he is the type of quarterback that I wanted to see in Sean Payton's system. For him to be able to go to Auburn, to Oregon, to learn the offense, and be able to do it at a high level, be the accurate passer, and he doesn't seem that different in size and stature than one really good quarterback that Sean Payton has had before."

With that being said, it seems like Thomas also thinks that Nix will be the starter in Week 1.

"I think it's going to be Bo Nix, I do. One of the things I did for a long time was catch passes, and if you ask a pass catcher what's the most important thing, it's accuracy. If you have one of the more accurate passers sitting in the backfield, you are going to want that guy to play."

The Broncos will need to put the guy on the field who gives them the best chance to win from the get-go. Thomas thinks that's Bo Nix, as do I. Sure, he will have his rookie moments, but I think the talent will outweigh it all. He's going to have a good season and try to lead the Broncos to a victory in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks. He's already establishing a good connection with a few of the receivers .
