The Avalanche have their road map for 2024-25.

The NHL released all 32 regular-season schedules Tuesday. Colorado starts on the road — Oct. 9 at the Vegas Golden Knights — before returning to Ball Arena Oct. 12 for the home opener against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Avs are legitimate Stanley Cup contenders from a sports betting perspective. Colorado is tied with New Jersey for the third-best odds of winning the 2025 championship ( +1100, per FanDuel ).

Here are three observations from the Avalanche’s 82-game regular season schedule.

    1. The Avs are historically good in back-to-back games (72-25-11 over the last five seasons) and they’ll be tested again. Colorado will play in 12 sets of consecutive games with 11 involving travel. The Avs play at Ball Arena on Oct. 27 (Senators) and Oct. 28 (Blackhawks).

    2. The Avalanche will play the first-year Utah Hockey Club on three occasions: Oct. 24 (road), Dec. 12 (home) and Dec. 27 (road). This feels like a natural rivalry considering geography . But that also requires the team formerly known as the Coyotes to find success in a new city.

    3. There are two notable breaks in the schedule: Dec. 23-26 for the holidays and Feb. 4-22 to accommodate the 4 Nations Face-Off . But things get hectic in January. The Avalanche will play 15 games, including a home matchup against the defending Cup champions Panthers on Jan. 6.
