Former Colorado Avalanche Tomas Tatar is once again a member of the New Jersey Devils. The veteran winger has signed a one-year, $1.8 million contract with the Metropolitan Division club.

Before signing with the Avalanche during the 2023 NHL Offseason, Tatar spent the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons with the Devils. In 158 games with the club, he posted 35 goals and 78 points. Overall, the veteran winger worked well as a middle-six option for them, and he will look to replicate it in this latest stint with the club.

However, Tatar is coming off a down 2023-24 season. In 27 games with the Avalanche, he had a goal and eight assists before being dealt to the Seattle Kraken for a fifth-round pick in December. Following his move to Seattle, he had eight goals and seven assists in 43 contests.

While Tatar's offense was down last season, there is reason to believe he could bounce back in 2024-25. In his final season with the Devils in 2022-23, he was excellent, posting 20 goals, 48 points, and a plus-41 rating in 82 games. Let's see if he can get his offense back up to those levels again with New Jersey from here.
