DENVER ( KDVR ) — The chance for rain in the coming days looks to be targeting the Eastern Plains of Colorado, leaving only a stray storm possible for Denver weather .

There will be some strong to severe storms with gusty wind and hail on the Eastern Plains during the early afternoon on Wednesday, as depicted below. The Pinpoint Weather team, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast, has a low chance for any showers along the Front Range on Wednesday.

    Weather tonight: Clear and comfortable

Skies will be clear overnight and the wind will be light from the south. It will be cool in the Colorado mountains with lots of 40s.

It will be comfortable and seasonal for metro Denver and the Front Range with overnight readings in the 50s. Milder temperatures in the 60s can be found in southeast Colorado.

Weather tomorrow: Warmer with a stray storm

Temperatures will be warmer on Wednesday with afternoon highs returning to the 90s along the Front Range. It’ll be a mix of 70s and 80s and very pleasant in the Colorado mountains.

The day will start with plenty of sunshine followed by some passing afternoon clouds. Additionally, on the far Eastern Plains, scattered, strong storms will develop in the early afternoon.

Looking ahead: Slightly cooler to end the week

The forecast for the Fourth of July is worth celebrating. There will be lots of sunshine and pleasant temperatures in the low 80s, which is below normal for this time of year. Temperatures will stay in the 80s through early next week before heating back into the 90s by the middle of the week.

There are very low chances for isolated showers and thunderstorms this week. The best chance (and it’s not great) arrives with a cold front on Sunday. Otherwise, the overall weather picture looks dry and quiet for early July, historically Colorado’s second-wettest month of the year.
