The Denver Broncos improved their secondary depth this spring when they used a fifth-round pick to select Missouri cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine.

Abrams-Draine (5-11, 179 pounds) joins a secondary that already includes Pat Surtain, Ja’Quan McMillian, Riley Moss, Damarri Mathis and Levi Wallace at cornerback. Surtain is considered one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, and McMillian emerged as a promising slot defender last fall.

“I feel like it will be a good opportunity for me because he [Surtain] is obviously one of the best corners in the league,” Abrams-Draine said of joining PS2 in Denver’s secondary. “So just to learn from him and all the guys that are there, and really just try to be in their ear, asking them what to do and how the process is [will help].”

Check out highlights from Abrams-Draine’s time with the Tigers below:

Abrams-Draine totaled 141 tackles, 34 pass breakups, seven interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in four years (44 games) at Missouri. He’ll compete for a rotational role in the secondary this summer.
