RTD is hiring bus operators at this career fair

DENVER ( KDVR ) — If you are looking for a full or part-time job, the Regional Transportation District is hiring, and they’re offering a signing bonus worth thousands of dollars.

Those interested in becoming bus operators for RTD can attend a career fair on Wednesday, July 31 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Get those resumes cleaned up and freshen up on your interview skills, the fair will be held at the RTD Platte Division at 3333 Ringsby Court in Denver.

RTD said qualified candidates need to have a domestic driver’s license that has been valid for at least two years.

According to the bus and rail service, candidates who are hired as bus operators will get a $4,000 signing bonus, paid training that includes CDL training and help through the permit process.

Pay for bus operators will start at $25.96 an hour. If you apply at the career fair, you may receive an offer letter that same day.

RTD said training can begin as soon as Aug. 19 or Sept. 3.

“The bus operator role is a career that people can retire from or start as a second career. It provides a needed service for the community and contributes to the agency’s mission of making lives better through connections. RTD invests in its employees and trains them for future leadership roles within RTD and the transit industry,” said RTD.
