    14-year-old arrested in deadly shooting of Federales bouncer in Denver

    DENVER ( KDVR ) – After a deadly shooting last week near 29th Street and Larimer Street , police arrested a teenage suspect believed to be involved in the homicide of Federales bouncer.

    The Denver Police Department said they took Steven Marquez, 14, into custody in Wyoming on Tuesday after an almost week-long search for the suspect.

    Police said he is currently being held for investigation of first-degree murder, but the Denver District Attorney’s office will make the final determination of charges.

    Bouncer shot while intervening in fight

    On Wednesday, July 10 at 6:40 p.m., Denver police said a fight broke out just outside of Federales, a restaurant in the River North Art District. William “Todd” Kidd, who worked there as a bouncer, stepped in to intervene and was shot.

    He was taken to the hospital and later died .

    The restaurant held a vigil on Monday remembering Kidd as a protector .

    “There are so many people who loved Todd and who Todd loved,” Brandi McMichael, vigil attendee, told FOX31.

    According to police, Marquez was identified as the suspect through surveillance video and witnesses.
