There’s a new way to pick up passengers at DIA from the cell phone lot

DENVER ( KDVR ) — A new Peña Boulevard on-ramp is expected to make passenger pickup easier for drivers waiting at Denver International Airport ‘s cell phone lot.
At DIA, those picking up a traveler from the airport cannot idle at the curbside of the arrivals pickup area at the terminal. Instead, DIA has the Final Approach cell phone waiting lot where drivers can wait until their traveler is fully ready to be picked up at Jeppesen Terminal.
Now, DIA has made the process of picking up a passenger more convenient. The new on-ramp will allow drivers to access inbound Peña Boulevard from the Final Approach cell phone lot and head to the terminal.
Drivers can now head east on 77th Avenue (formerly a one-way road to Final Approach) and take a right on southbound Gun Club Road to access the new on-ramp.
Previously, drivers were asked to leave the cell phone lot and take 78th Avenue east to Jackson Gap Street then to the eastbound ramp to Peña Boulevard. According to Konopasek, the ramp marks the completion of the Gun Club Road widening project.
The cell phone waiting lot is free. Drivers can check lot availability at DIA’s website.
