Former MVP Russell Westbrook Signs with Denver Nuggets

The Los Angeles Clippers’ Russell Westbrook plans to sign with the Denver Nuggets after being the main prospect of a sign and trade between the Clippers and Utah Jazz. Westbrook was put up on the trading block around a month ago, even though he never said he wanted out and actually took a pay cut to stay with the team. This is also the second time Westbrook has been sent in a trade to the Jazz and had his contract bought out from LA, with the first time being traded from the other LA team, the Lakers.

This past season the former MVP and all-time triple-doubles leader came off the bench as the 6th man, averaging 22 minutes, 11 points, five rebounds, five assists, and one steal a game. Westbrook will strengthen the bench of the Nuggets, providing another scorer and playmaker off the bench to help the new walking triple-double center Nikola Jokic.
