Government agencies across the Front Range affected by global outage

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Agencies across Colorado have seen impacts from the global tech outage on Friday — some more than others.

Major companies around the world are dealing with a Microsoft and CrowdStrike outage, according to the Associated Press. This affected banks, media and flights across the world, including a ground stop at Denver International Airport and continued delays on RTD lines .

Government agencies with reported outages

These Front Range agencies are currently affected by the outages, based on X posts and information given to FOX31.

• Arapahoe County : Technical difficulties with computer systems have primarily affected the Clerk and Recorder’s Office and IT. Offices are closed for Friday.
• City of Boulder: All emergency systems are operating, but many city computers are down .
• Colorado Department of Labor and Employment: Its systems and applications may be experiencing issues and delays .
• Colorado State Patrol: Impacts to the computer-aided dispatching system, CSP is currently using manual workarounds.
• Denver Office of the Clerk and Recorder: The database of public records is “offline.”

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office said there have not been any outage issues , while law enforcement departments like the Aurora Police Department and Denver Police Department told FOX31 that there were some minor outages early Friday morning, but those have since been restored.

Other agencies are up and running again. The Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles restored services Friday afternoon after nearly an entire business day of disruptions.

The outage has caused significant delays for transportation, like at DIA which canceled almost 40 flights and delayed almost 200 flights.

RTD said delays could last throughout the day, some for up to 45 minutes.

Most of the government agencies told the public to stay updated through their social media pages for the latest information.
