Denver weather: Cooler weekend temps with some showers and storms

DENVER (KDVR) — Denver’s weather will cool down over the weekend, with both days seeing below-average temperatures. There will also be showers and storms on the way for Saturday and Sunday, and the area is under a marginal risk for severe weather with the primary threat being gusty storms after 3 p.m.

Weather today: Showers with below-average temperatures

Denver kicks off the weekend on a nice note with partly cloudy skies and dry air. Temperatures in the morning will be in the 50s and 60s before rising into the middle 80s by the afternoon.

Saturday afternoon will also feature scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m.

Weather tonight: Showers, cooler

Saturday night will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight before we calm things down very early Sunday morning. Overnight low temperatures will drop into the upper 50s and lower 60s under mostly cloudy skies, winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Looking ahead: More thunderstorms, cool start to the week

Showers and storms will remain in the forecast for the area on Sunday, and highs on Sunday will be in the middle to upper 70s. This is about 10 to 15 degrees cooler than normal for this time of the year.

Monday will be similar to Sunday, with a high near 80 and a chance for scattered showers and storms by the afternoon.

Drier and warmer weather moves in for the rest of the workweek. High temperatures will be seasonal, and in the lower 90s Wednesday then mid-90s Thursday and Friday.
