Denver weather: Below average temps with hazy skies on Monday

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Cooler temperatures, along with a smoky haze, are in the Denver weather forecast on Monday. This is all ahead of a warming and drying trend by the middle and end of this week.

The Front Range also has an air quality alert in effect until 4 p.m.

Weather today: Smoky skies, cool temperatures

Temperatures Monday morning start in the upper 50s nearing 60 degrees. The Front Range will see wildfire smoke coming in from the north, draping the northern and southern foothills with a bit of a haze.

High temperatures by Monday afternoon will max out in the lower 80s with a chance of an isolated shower, although most of the rain will be well to the south of Denver.

Weather tonight: Still smoky but cool

Temperatures overnight drop down into the upper 50s nearing 60 degrees. Winds will be out of the north anywhere from 5-10 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Looking ahead: Warming trend

Sunshine and warmer temperatures return to the forecast on Tuesday. Tuesday’s highs will reach the upper 80s, which is just a couple of degrees above average.

Sunshine will help keep a warming trend going through the end of the week with highs rising to the mid-90s.

Rain gets reintroduced into the forecast as the workweek wraps up.
