The summer weather can be a lot to take, especially when you have a thick fur coat. And while a double coat can actually help dogs regulate their temperatures, they can sometimes use a little outside help.

These beautiful Golden’s found a brilliant way to stay cool in the warm air. It’s an idea worth remembering should your AC ever go out.

Watch this video from July 21 to see how these lovely pups beat the heat!

This is pretty clever and also quite effective. Amanda (@theamandabittner) tells us these beautiful girls are ambassadors for @ fivefreedomsdairy at the City Park Farmers Market in Denver, Colorado. She jokes, “I’ll take a Golden on the rocks, make it a double.” For sure! Although these friendly and well-behaved girls don’t hesitate to lie on the pavement to get attention, it must feel good to cool down on a big pile of ice after greeting customers in the summer sun. This cool idea is undoubtedly the brainchild of a devoted dog parent who will do anything to keep their pups happy and healthy. It may be an idea worth trying ourselves if it gets too hot to lie on the beach.

Ways To Help Dogs Stay Cool in Summer Heat

    1. Provide plenty of water. It's essential for dogs to regulate their body temperature properly.

    2. Provide pups with a shaded area. This is especially important at peak times of the day. In the absence of ice, a cooling mat or wet towels can also help keep them cool.

    3. Limit strenuous activities during the sun’s hottest hours. Also, try to exercise dogs early in the day before the sun rises or after it sets.

    4. Stay on top of grooming. While shaving a double-coated dog is not recommended , regularly brushing and trimming their fur may also help keep them comfortable.

Always monitor dogs for signs of heat exhaustion , such as excessive panting, drooling, or vomiting. Should they begin to exhibit any of these symptoms, move them to a cooler area and seek veterinary help immediately if they do not resolve quickly.

These gorgeous Goldens have many fans! Viewer @flora_rino responded, “We’ll buy whatever they’re selling!” Me too, and they would be my first stop. Viewer @pinkpearldenver shared, “My literal favorite part of the whole market every time.” No doubt! Viewer @rspizzy remarked, “Hold on a sec, gotta ice my dogs.” Ha! Priorities matter.

If I ever go to Denver, I will gladly visit these lovely ladies at the farmers’ market. On a hot day, with the right treat, perhaps they might consider sharing a spot on their ice bed.
