After being traded from the LA Clippers to the Utah Jazz, nine-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook was waived. Westbrook cleared waivers, making him an NBA free agent, and he is now expected to sign with the Denver Nuggets.

"The Utah Jazz have waived guard Russell Westbrook," the Jazz wrote in a statement . "Westbrook (6-4, 200, UCLA) has appeared in 1,162 career games (1,039 starts) in 16 NBA seasons, averaging 21.7 points, 8.1 assists, and 7.1 rebounds in 33.6 minutes per contest."

As fans await Westbrook to the Nuggets becoming official, his wife Nina Westbrook shared a viral Instagram post of the couple on a date:

"Top notch date night experience," Nina Westbrook wrote in her caption.

The Westbrook couple spent Wednesday in Los Angeles as part of their new partnership with Little Kitchen Academy. With work to do in the Los Angeles area, this could be why Westbrook has not yet found the time to officially sign a contract with Denver.

“To ALL of MY fans! You guys don't know how much your support means to me. Y'all keep me motivated and energized. I've got the most loyal and amazing fans in sports. Looking forward to seeing y'all next season!"
