    Denver weather: Scattered storms and less smoke Friday

    DENVER ( KDVR ) — Extra clouds hang around on Friday with scattered showers in the afternoon helping to clear out the rest of the recent wildfire smoke in the Denver weather forecast.

    Weather today: Scattered storms

    Temperatures will be slightly cooler, but still just above average, in the lower 90s on Friday.

    Partly cloudy skies will be around through most of the day with showers and storms possible in the middle to late afternoon hours.

    Any extra clouds from the day will clear gradually Friday night as winds stay light. Overnight lows will dip into the lower 60s, making it a more seasonal and refreshing start to Saturday.

    Saturday kicks off the weekend with mainly sunny skies, highs in the lower 90s and small chances for afternoon storms.

    Monday starts the next week with a mix of sun and clouds as highs reach into the upper 90s.

    Tuesday and Wednesday are the hottest days of the week as temperatures hit the upper 90s, nearing triple digits. The Pinpoint Weather team will continue to keep an eye on those temperatures in case Denver reaches the triple digits.

    Partly cloudy skies are back by the midweek before temperatures start to slowly drop through the end of the week.
