    Denver weather: Morning sunshine and afternoon rain, highs in the 90s

    Denver is forecast for morning sunshine and early afternoon rain, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

    There's a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast, mainly after 1 p.m. Expect partly sunny skies and a high of 92 degrees.

    Looking ahead to Friday night, a 30% chance of thunderstorms persists through midnight. Expect mostly cloudy skies and a low of 63 degrees.

    Chances for scattered thunderstorms will continue through Saturday before clearing Sunday.

    Expect increasing highs through the weekend and into Monday as another heatwave begins to settle in the area.

    Saturday: There's a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast afternoon. Expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 92 degrees.

    Sunday: Sunny skies are in the forecast and a high of 96 degrees.

    Monday: Sunny skies and hot temps are in the forecast, alongside a high of 97 degrees.

    Tuesday: Expect sunny and hot skies, and a high of 98 degrees.
